The Width Measurement Machine is a fully automated inspection system designed for precise measurement of bearing ring width in a production environment. It operates using a conveyor-based handling system that automatically feeds and positions rings for inspection, eliminating manual intervention and improving cycle time. The machine uses a high-precision LVDT probe to measure the width of each component with extremely tight tolerance control, ensuring consistent quality. Based on the measured values, the system automatically sorts parts into OK and rejected categories, making it highly suitable for batch and mass production.

In terms of capability, the machine can measure both small and large bearing rings with high repeatability and accuracy. For small rings, it achieves an R&R of approximately 0.5 micron, while for larger rings, it maintains around 2 microns. The overall system accuracy is up to ±1 micron, making it ideal for critical applications where dimensional precision is essential.
This combination of automation, accuracy, and sorting capability helps improve quality control, reduce human error, and enhance overall production efficiency.
