The NDT IR & OR machine is a fully automated inspection system used for detecting defects in bearing rings without causing any damage to the component. It inspects both inner (IR) and outer (OR) surfaces of the rings to identify critical issues such as internal cracks, uneven forging, and improper hardening. The system uses eddy current flaw detection technology, which is highly effective in detecting surface and near-surface defects, including disbands. With automated handling and inspection, it ensures consistent quality checks while reducing dependency on manual inspection.
In terms of capability, the machine is designed to handle both small and large rings with high repeatability and precision. For small rings, it achieves an R&R of approximately 0.5 micron, while for larger rings, it maintains around 2 microns. This level of accuracy ensures reliable defect detection across different sizes, making the system highly suitable for critical applications where component integrity and quality are essential.
